Meet our holmies: Stephen

I had a blast catching up with Stephen, who is equal parts hilarious and insightful. From his beloved husky to his dream of hitting the 1970s disco scene, this conversation had me laughing and thinking in equal measure. Let’s step into Stephen’s world!

Alright, Stephen, let’s start with the classic question: cats or dogs? Or is there a twist?
“I have both, but Anakin, my husky, is my favourite.”

He pulls up a picture of Anakin looking majestic as ever (cue Anakin spam). It’s no surprise really – Stephen and Anakin are practically inseparable. I’m convinced Anakin might even have superpowers of his own.

Speaking of superpowers, if you could have one, what would it be?
“Time travel,” he says. “I could A/B test every decision I make.”

Can you imagine the power of perfect decision-making? I think we’d all love to have that in our back pockets.

Okay, you’ve got me curious – if you wrote your autobiography, what would you call it?
“Double-Parked: On Life and Lagers.”

I have to admit, that’s probably the most Stephen answer I could’ve expected. The man loves his craft beer and knows how to enjoy life, no doubt about it!

If you were a time traveler, where would you go first? And why?
With a grin that tells me he’s thought this through… “I can time travel because, you know, that’s my superpower. Keep up! I’d go back to the 1970s—disco, baby. I can grow a sick ’fro, and I would tear it up on the dance floor.”

And you know what? I can absolutely picture Stephen rocking that look and owning the dance floor like he was born for it.

“😅, which is my nervous laughter – like when things get awkward but I’m trying to keep it cool. Then there’s 🤷‍♂️ because honestly, I shrug my way through life – it’s practically my signature move. And finally, 🤣, because, hey, there’s always room for a good joke!.”
