Empowering future leaders: aston holmes’ partnership with Great Girls

We believe in the transformative power of education and mentorship. This belief is exemplified through our partnership with Great Girls in South Africa, a remarkable NGO dedicated to bridging the gap for girls in grade 11 and matric as they transition into life after school. Great Girls equips these young women with essential skills such as CV writing, interviewing techniques, workplace behaviors, and more, setting them on a path towards success and self-sufficiency.
We play an instrumental role in supporting Great Girls interviewing module. In September of 2023, we participated in their mock interview day, providing hands-on experience and valuable insights to these girls. This involvement allows us to contribute directly to the personal and professional development of these young women, helping them gain confidence and readiness for the challenges ahead.
Our collaboration with Great Girls has also involved hosting interview days at their Lavender Hill location in Cape Town and participating in mock interview sessions at schools in Claremont. Following these events, selected girls were invited to spend a shadow week at our offices, providing them with a first-hand look at our organisational culture and work environment.
Our collaboration with Great Girls this year will expand even further. We will have a dedicated holmie serving as their photographer, capturing the essence of the programme, and documenting the girls’ journies towards empowerment. Additionally, we are actively engaging with the Great Girls alumni division to explore new avenues where aston holmes can offer support and guidance.
Working closely with Great Girls has been a profoundly rewarding experience for our team. The opportunity to interact directly with the girls and witness the transformative impact of the program first-hand is both inspiring and humbling. Seeing these young women grow, develop essential skills, and build brighter futures reaffirms our commitment to making a meaningful difference in their lives.
